Ashley luminary walk

The John Curtis Cancer Benefit Volleyball Match is an annual fundraiser to support the fight against cancer.  Ashley Rickner, a teacher, at JCCS, was diagnosed on May 30, 2013 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  On June 7, 2014 she went home to be with the Lord.  The Rickner family established the Ashley Rickner Foundation to support education and cancer research all of which were important to Ashley.  After much prayer the Rickner family will remember Ashley through the Ashley Rickner Memorial Walk with proceeds going to the Ashley Rickner Foundation.  The Ashley Rickner Memorial Walk will become an annual event associated with the John Curtis Cancer Benefit Volleyball Match.  The walk will take place after the varsity volleyball game on the high school football field.  As we walk songs that Ashley sang at school events and church will be played. In closing I would like to leave you with one of Ashley’s favorite scriptures – I love you, Lord God, and you make me strong.  You are my mighty rock, my fortress, my protector, the rock where I am safe, my shield, my powerful weapon, and my place of shelter.  Psalm 18:1-2
