Jordan Named All-State in Basketball

Jerkalia Jordan was named first team all-State this week after helping lead the John Curtis Lady Patriots to the Select Division I State Championship in March.

Jordan was the only freshman among the 10 total players named to the first and second teams as selected by the Louisiana Sports Writers Assn.  She was one of just two New Orleans-area players who received the honor.

Unlike the LHSAA’s select/nonselect split for the playoffs, the All-State voting encompassed all teams who competed in Class 5A during the regular season, making the award even more significant.

Teammate Dynah Jones received honorable mention, and Kai Morgan was tabbed for honorable mention on the Class 5A boys team.
