Rummel will be the Patriots’ opponent in the Select Division I semifinal baseball playoff game Thursday after the Raiders completed a two-game sweep over Jesuit in Saturday’s action.

The game will be played at 4 p.m. on Field #40 at McMurray Park in Sulphur.  Both teams are coming off of quarterfinal sweeps; Curtis completed a two-game sweep of Evangel Friday.  The semifinals and the Championship game (at 3 p.m. Saturday) are both single elimination, unlike the quarterfinal series.

The two teams split their regular season series in the last week of the regular season with a pair of one-run games..  Rummel won the first game, 3-2.  With the Raiders needing a win in the final game to earn a share of the title, Curtis prevailed, 7-6, to successfully defend their Catholic League Championship.

In the other bracket, Holy Cross has advanced to play Baton Rouge Catholic, thus the semifinals feature three of the seven Catholic League teams.

Curtis will be the home team in the semifinals after entering the tournament with the #1 seed; Rummel is seeded 4th.
