NINE CURTIS ATHLETES SIGN LETTERS OF INTENT
Feb. 3, 2016–Nine athletes at John Curtis Christian School signed letters of intent with their respective colleges today.
“We’re pleased these young students have created the opportunity to continue their education, thanks to their achievements both in the classroom and in athletic competition,” said Athletics Director J. T. Curtis. “The fact that they represent four different sports and eight different colleges indicates the diversity of our program.”
WILLIE ALLEN, Offensive Tackle, LSU, 6-7, 310. One of the most highly-recruited interior linemen in the country, blocked for a team that averaged 331 yards rushing in his three years as a starter.
DEVON BENN, Running Back, Southern University, 5-10, 180. Rushed for 2,580 yards and 30 TDs in his three years on the varsity. Team’s leading rusher with 1,148 yards in 2015.
NATHANIEL EVANS, LB, Univ. of Central Florida, 6-2, 225. 249 career tackles. Led team in tackles with 83 in 2015.
KEVIN MILTON, DE, Belhaven College, 5-9, 200. 63 career tackles.
THEO STAMPS, DB, Midlands (Kan.), 5-10, 185. 51 career tackles, 3 interceptions.
TARIQ PIERCE, LB, Southern University, 5-111, 220. 125 career tackles, 2 interceptions.
MASON MATHERNE, OF, Baton Rouge Community College. Batted .368 for 2015 Class 3A State Champions.
LACEE ANCAR, Xavier University. Reached the semifinals of the State Girls Division III Championship in 2015.
LAYNE ESTES, Loyola University. Four-year career record includes 227 kills and 89 solo blocks
