Multiple Teams · Four Patriot Ballplayers Named All-State

Four John Curtis athletes were named to the 2017 All-State team, including three baseball players and one softball player.


Cade Beloso, Jay Curtis and Ian Landreneau were all selected after leading the Patriots to the Select Division I baseball championship.  Alyssa Dean represented the Lady Patriots softball team on the list of the state’s best.


Beloso batted .418 with eight home runs, 19 doubles and 39 RBI.  He also had  a 4-0 record on the mound with a 1.17 ERA.


Curtis hit for a .317 average.  He had six home runs and led the team with 40 RBIs.  Curtis also took a few turns pitching, finishing with a 2-0 record.


Landreneau had an            8-1 record on the mound, highlighted by hit no-hitter in the state championship game.  When not pitching, he hit for a .353 average.


Dean was a mainstay on the Lady Patriots softball team all season.


Achieving honorable mention were baseball players Dax Ford and Brandon Davis and softball player Cameron Goodman.  With five players receiving honors, John Curtis had the biggest representation of any school in the state on the 5A baseball team.  The 5A team was a combination of the Select Division I and Class 5A playoff classifications.
