Boys Varsity Baseball · Patriot baseball team out to fast start with 5-1 record.

The John Curtis Patriot baseball team is off to a hot start to the 2018 season. Six games into the season, the Patriots are 5-1 with wins over Episcopal (BR), St. Charles Catholic, Lutcher, Mandeville and St. Paul’s. However, the Patriots have certainly been tested, having to win three 1-run games and two 2-run games. The Patriots lone loss was to Catholic (BR), who the Patriots usurped in last year’s Division I state championship. Leading the way offensively, statistics-wises, has been Cade Beloso, Jay Curtis and Brandon Davis. However, it’s the Patriots’ pitching staff that has been really impressive, sporting a 2.50 team ERA. Ian Landreneau and Will Ripoll have thrown 10 innings each,¬†followed by Logan Stevens with 5, Dax Ford with 4 and Choncee Crum with 4.

Below are three home runs hit by Patriot batters. The first one is Cade Beloso vs. Mandeville. The second and third is Jay Curtis vs. St. Charles Catholic and Lutcher.
