The 2018 John Curtis Christian School baseball team is set to travel to Cary, North Carolina to play in the National High School Invitational at USA Baseball Headquarters. Before leaving early tomorrow morning, the team will face the St. Augustine Purple Knights in a district matchup this afternoon at Wesley Barrow Stadium for 4:00 PM. The team will then travel to Cary on Tuesday morning. Once arriving in Cary a team practice at the USA Baseball Complex will commence at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The Patriots will then face Hanover High School out of Mechanicsville, Virginia in the opening game of the tournament on Wednesday at 9:30 AM Eastern Standard Time. In the pod with the Patriots and Hanover are American Heritage School, from Plantation, Florida and Santiago High School out of Carona, California. The winners of each pod will play Thursday at 1:30 Eastern Standard Time and the losers will play at 11:30 Eastern Standard Time. The winner of each pod (there are 4 pods of 4 teams) will advance to play in the semi-finals on Friday. From there, a third place game will be played and a first place game will be played on Saturday, at 9:00 AM and 12:15, respectively. Those not winning the pod will play two more TBA games in a consolation bracket against others not advancing from their pod on Friday and Saturday.
