Coach Barbara Farris has the Lady Patriot basketball team playing at an elite level, once again this season. The basketball team has only lost twice, once by 6 points to Benton and the other by 4 to Germantown, Pennsylvania in the semi-finals of the All State Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic this past week. The Patriots have won 14 games so far this season, entering the district slate that begins Thursday night vs. Mount Carmel. The biggest game of the Sugar Bowl tournament turned out to be when the Patriots faced Germantown. The Patriots were down two points, but were forced to foul with under five seconds to play in the semi-finals. Germantown is ranked nationally and went on to win the tournament title the next day going away with a 30 point victory. It was the smallest margin of victory for Germantown all season long. However, the Patriots aren’t claiming any moral victories. It is a step in the process of a long season, as the goal remains…to win the 2019 state championship.
Good luck to the Lady Patriot basketball team!john
