Boys Varsity Football · John Curtis vs. Karr…does a season opener get any better than this?!?!

The game that everyone has been talking about is just around the corner. The Karr Cougar seniors have lost just one game in their careers and are coming off of an undefeated 4A state championship. The two teams square up this Thursday night at Behrman Stadium at 7:00. You better get your tickets at school and get there early, because this game is sure to sell out and will become standing room only. Tickets are on sale at school this week for $10. If you wait to purchase at the gate, it will cost you $15. The Cougars and Patriots have played each other ten times overall, with the Patriots holding a 9-1 record. The Cougars defeated the Patriots in 2002 by the score of 14-12. The last two times the teams played was in 2013 and 2014, with the Patriots winning a barn burner 38-33 and 34-22, respectively.

This game should provide plenty of fireworks as the two teams have been, arguably, the top two teams in the metropolitan area over the last several years. The game has been dubbed as one of national games of the year and has gotten plenty of attention. We look forward to kicking off the season this Thursday night and will need every Patriot fan in attendance to cheer on the team!
