Entering the Ursuline Thanksgiving Tournament, the Lady Patriot basketball team was coming off of two impressive victories. They beat KIPP Booker T. Washington 45-33 and dominated Mandeville 66-32 to begin the season 2-0. In game one of the tournament, the defense showed up and showed out yielding just 20 point to Central Lafourche, winning going away 51-20. Defense is always a staple of a Barbara Farris coached team and game two of the tournament proved that to be very accurate. They faced district foe Archbishop Chapelle and easily handled them by the score of 58-19. That victory put them in the tournament championship against undefeated Terrebonne. The Lady Tigers came into the game 5-0, averaging approximately 50 points per game and just defeated the homestanding Ursuline Lions by one point to advance to the championship. The Patriots would win that game 48-33 to win the entire tournament. Congratulations to the team for their early season success!
