Boys Varsity Basketball · Longtime head basketball coach Mike Krajcer steps down

Mike Krajcer began his career at John Curtis Christian School 28 years ago as an assistant boys basketball coach. Two years later, he took over the reigns as head coach and has maintained that role ever since. He will now take a step back from the basketball program to spend more time with his family. Coach Krajcer will remain a part of the JCCS faculty in his role as Upper School Athletic Facilities Coordinator and Health and Physical Education teacher. Coach K, as he is affectionately known by his players and students, has poured a lot of time and energy into the JCCS basketball program over the past 28 years. He will now be able to dedicate his free time to watching his grandchildren grow.

Coach Krajcer led his teams to win over 500 games. He has one state championship and one state runner-up to his credit. He led his team to win the school’s first ever boys basketball state championship in 2012 by defeating Riverside Academy. In 2015, his team finished as the state’s runner-up.

The John Curtis Christian School administration would like to thank Coach Krajcer for his loyal service and dedication to our basketball program. We would like to thank his family for sharing him with JCCS throughout the last 28 years. We are happy that he will continue to serve at JCCS in a full-time capacity, and we know that he will thrive in his new role.

The JCCS administration has selected a new head boys basketball coach for the 2020-21 school year. An announcement will be made next week to introduce the new coach.
